Acme name: Jo-Anne
Occupation: Full time Mom and Instructional Aide for Kindergarten
Number of labs: 2

"Maggie" Camelot's Pink Majesty CGC, yellow, 3 years, female (spayed)
"Nessa" Int. CH. Sher-Mi Imagine A Perfect Ten, black female

What types of activities do you like to do with your labs: I had fun taking Maggie through basic obedience and getting her Canine Good Citizen. I am just starting confirmation with Nessa and realize I have sooo much to learn. Maggie loves the beach, so we are looking forward to taking Maggie and Nessa this summer. Maggie and Nessa are the best of friends and I thoroughly enjoy watching them enjoy each other. Whether it's butt tucking around the yard, sun bathing side by side, keeping our yard a "bird free zone", or curling up in the same crate, Maggie and Nessa always do it together. They have become quite a team.... except when Nessa does one of her naughty, adolescent things and Maggie just gives me the "I didn't do it and I tried to tell her to stop", look.

What do you do in your spare time (if you have any): My spare time is occupied by my children's demanding schedule and Labrador related activities. We are a foster family for Lab Rescue, however because of Nessa's recent arrival, we've not had the pleasure of a foster dog since she came to live with us. Last year, we fostered 6 Labradors, a couple for as long as 8 weeks each, to one that was just an over night stay. I am a board member of my local Labrador Retriever Club and find this endeavor to be very educational, as well as fun. I spend time on my computer and frequent the AcmePet Bulletin Boards and chat on ICQ. I've met several of my online acquaintances in person and they have all become very good friends. I also participate in charity dog walks and fundraising activities for Lab Rescue.

Other comments: My involvement with Labradors began over 10 years ago when we fell in love with our first puppy. Morsel, a chocolate girl, came into our lives just as we closed escrow on our first home and in the same year we got married. It was love at first sight and for us, endeared us to this breed forever. Sadly, we lost Morsel when she was 9 years old, but her illness brought me to the Internet and opened up this unbelievable resource.
